<p>Minted Loot Studios was recently approved as a Nintendo Switch publisher. The developer of ChronoForge and Mind Tome achieved a significant milestone in the process as it could satisfy Nintendo’s strict publishing standards.</p><p>While this development doesn't mean that ChronoForge will be launching on the Switch immediately, it’s a step in the right direction for mainstream accessibility. Valve, for example, banned blockchain games from Steam in 2021. The publisher only allowed some of them back under strict conditions. During this process, Web3 game developers had to adjust or limit certain Web3 features to comply with platform policies. While this allowed them to get listed on platforms like Steam, it also made it difficult for them to onboard users into the blockchain space.</p><h2><strong>Embracing the New</strong></h2><p>On the other hand, other industry leaders, like Epic Games Store, have been relatively friendly toward GameFi projects. There looks to be a standoff in the Web2 world toward Web3 gaming. If the crypto gaming space continues to grow at a rapid pace, gaming platforms taking a chance on the blockchain technology could get rewarded.</p><p>However, Web2 gaming platforms may also get to compete with Web3 gaming hubs at some point down the line. Gaming blockchains strive to gather the best titles in the ecosystem together under one roof to offer a seamless experience for players where they can use their NFTs in different titles.
