Shrapnel is an extraction shooter set in a lawless warzone. Players get to battle for valuable resources but must escape to avoid losing everything.


<p>Web3 game Shrapnel recently secured a partnership with the Chinese government. This partnership will make Shrapnel the first GameFi project on China’s official RWA Trusted Copyright Chain. This blockchain-based system was designed to certify digital assets and intellectual property rights in China.</p><p><a href="https://medium.com/@playSHRAPNEL/shrapnel-partners-with-the-chinese-government-to-launch-the-first-licensed-web3-game-on-the-80e982cc61fb">Collaboration between Shrapnel and the Chinese government</a> also paves the way for the game’s localized version. China is known for having strict regulations for games, even causing some titles to release special editions of their game to comply with the country’s requirements. Shrapnel also came to terms with Lingjing Game Labs, the digital subsidiary of People’s Daily, the Chinese government’s official newspaper. This agreement will oversee the government-approved distribution of SHRAPNEL, digital asset minting, trading mechanisms, and the game’s localized operations.</p><h2><strong>Better Now Than Later</strong></h2><p>Ken Rosman, CEO of Neon Machine, commented on the partnership as well. He notes, “This milestone unlocks massive potential for both SHRAPNEL and Web3 gaming in China. It also sets a strong precedent for how decentralized paradigms and a nation’s government can work together to drive growth on a global scale. In doing so, most replaced blood effects and other banned elements from their games to ensure full compliance. Considering most of these games were already up and running, this caused an unintentional setback in their schedules. With Shrapnel tackling this problem early in its lifecycle, the game’s full release may make a more significant impact worldwide.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shrapnel looks to capture quite a bit of momentum with its free-to-play launch in 2025, and yet another update to support this initiative recently became available. The January 2025 update features gameplay changes that can help expand Shrapnel's ecosystem and community engagement.</p><p><a href="https://medium.com/@playSHRAPNEL/jan-2025-update-a357d5720fb2">Shrapnel's January 2025 update</a> also updated the fans on the new team-based game mode, which is still under development. The process requires a small $SHRAP fee, making it another way of participating in the game's economy.</p><h2><strong>It’s Time to Recycle</strong></h2><p>Shrapnel players also received a new inventory management tool, the Recycle Depot. You can place items in the depot, recycle them for a scaling $SHRAP fee, and receive a new item. With a bit of luck on your side, this might be a decent way to see whether you can secure some high-value items while getting rid of your unwanted gear.</p><p>The Operator system is expected to become a core part of the game throughout 2025 as Shrapnel plans to add more Operators to the game with campaign releases.
