The neural rendering technology will feature granular developer controls, and Bethesda, CAPCOM &amp; Ubisoft are already committed to integrating the tech.</p><p><a href="https://x.com/ryanshrout/status/2033686038829535318">According to Ryan Shrout’s hands-on preview</a> of DLSS 5, game studios are pushing internal adoption with technical artists seeing it as a tool that recovers visual quality lost during the transition from high-fidelity authoring software to real-time game engines.</p><h2>The DLSS 5 AI Model</h2><p>DLSS 5 runs a single AI model across every supported game. The system examines one frame at a time and identifies what it sees. Each material gets processed differently based on physical light behavior.</p><p>Shrout tested the system across multiple titles. In one Starfield environment, kitchen objects appeared dimensionally flat before activating DLSS 5. Games, Hotta Studio, NetEase, NCSOFT, and S-GAME have already signed on for DLSS 5 integration.</p><p><a href="https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss5-breakthrough-in-visual-fidelity-for-games/">Todd Howard from Bethesda Game Studios said</a> the system helps artistic vision translate to real-time environments without performance bottlenecks. Starfield will receive DLSS 5 support alongside future Bethesda releases.</p><p>The full game list includes Starfield, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Resident Evil Requiem, Hogwarts Legacy, Phantom Blade Zero, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Delta Force, AION 2, Black State, CINDER CITY, Justice, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, NTE: Neverness to Everness, Sea of Remnants, and Where Winds Meet.</p><p>At the time of writing, DLSS 5 demonstrations use two RTX 5090 cards. One handles game rendering. The second runs only the AI model. This may change close to release, as most gamers tend to have single GPUs in their systems.</p><p>Game developers who integrated AI saw their fair share of backlash at the beginning.
