<p>The Halo franchise is returning with Halo: Campaign Evolved, which will launch on July 28. Campaign Evolved will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get it on day one.<br><br><a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2806050/Halo_Campaign_Evolved/">Halo: Campaign Evolved</a> early access will begin on July 23 for Premium and Collector's Edition owners. The game is a ground-up remake of the original 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, built in Unreal Engine 5.<br><br>It includes the original ten missions, along with a new three-mission prequel arc called Operation: METEORITE. For many players, the campaign was always secondary to the PvP experience. Launching a Halo game without it has drawn criticism.<br><br>"It's such a horrible first impression to launch a Halo game without multiplayer,"&nbsp;<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/xbox/comments/1tzi5q4/halo_campaign_evolved_launches_july_28_preorders/oqfub55/">one Reddit user wrote</a>. "PS5 players will beat it then forget about it." Others see the decision differently. Halo Studios is reportedly developing a&nbsp;<a href="https://gamingbolt.com/multiplayer-halo-project-ekur-was-going-to-be-an-extraction-shooter-rumor">standalone multiplayer title</a> in parallel, with the remake series focusing solely on campaigns.<br><br>In addition to having more plans for the Halo franchise, Microsoft also sees it as a part of a broader Xbox franchise revival. Forza Horizon 6 launched in May, and both Fable and Gears of War: E-Day are in the pipeline. Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are also rumoured to be in development.<br><br>Halo: Campaign Evolved launches globally on July 28 at 8am PDT.
