Illuvium Beyond Wave 4 brings rulebook & collection guide for new players
The Illuvium ecosystem continues to grow with all of its members onboard. The developers recently announced Wave 4 for the collectible card game of the ecosystem, Illuvium Beyond. The update is expected to go live this May, aiming to improve the gameplay experience while addressing player feedback.
Illuvium developers want to reduce the learning curve of its ecosystem, and the fourth Wave of Beyond will feature a Rulebook & Collection guide. With this guide clarifying in-game mechanics and collection updates, more players can better understand Illuvium Beyond.
Addressing community feedback, Illuvium Beyond Wave Four will be rewarding the top 250 players with Illuvitars. Illuvium players have been asking for a more rewarding structure, and this looks to be a step in the right direction for future waves. The leaderboard interface also gets a refresh. These updates aim to make the leaderboard more accessible and clear.
Ecosystems Grow Together
Illuvium Beyond isn't the only title within the game's ecosystem to receive updates. Illuvium Overworld announced dynamic AI NPCs earlier in 2025 that would allow the game to offer a more personalized experience for all players. Considering Illuvium Overworld also looks to pivot into an MMO Lite, the addition of these NPCs fits with the game's new goal. The developers even brought on new game directors during restructuring efforts, signaling a year filled with innovation for Illuvium.
While Web3 games are eager to continue building innovative products, the Web2 gaming industry is still going through tough times. There are studios still looking to reduce their workforce, and some of this contingency is also spread over the GameFi space. Illuvium may have brought new directors, but the developer also had to part ways with many contributors.

For the last two years, the focus has been on building quality products rather than focusing on play-to-earn elements in Web3, and it's getting closer to that time to whether these efforts will help create healthy playerbases.
