Over the course of the summer, we’ve witnessed Shardbound’s limited beta and various in-game events. It’s now time for an open beta as Shardbound invites all card game enthusiasts to participate via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/586030/Shardbound_Forge_Your_Path_Master_Your_Strategy/">Steam</a> and <a href="https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/shardbound-504243">Epic Games Store</a>, starting today, October 9.Coming into the open beta, Shardbound developers rolled out critical updates that may impact the game’s pre-existing meta. This means that all the achievements and levels you unlock will be permanent. In addition to the balance changes, some cards were removed from the game, but not permanently. They’ll be chilling in the vault for now until the developers can come up with innovative ways to introduce them in a way that better suits their vision.<h2>Gearing Toward the Open Beta and Future</h2>Prior to the open beta, Shardbound players had been enjoying weekly events that came in the form of “<a href="https://www.shardbound.com/news/new-weekly-event-the-floating-isles">The Floating Isles</a>,” “<a href="https://www.shardbound.com/news/the-queens-challenge-event-breakdown">The Queen’s Challenge</a>,” and “<a href="https://www.shardbound.com/news/night-of-the-living-dead-event-breakdown">Night of the Living</a>” in recent months.The Floating Isles is a recurring event, taking place every Tuesday and Wednesday. During the event, completing 2,000 PvP matches equaled unlocking rewards such as Royal Marks. The beginning of August also saw another limited-time event, Night of the Living, where the Shardbound world got to battle Sabine’s Thralls. This event also featured a similar rewards lineup, but the focus implementing different exhibitions for players has been keeping the gameplay experience fresh.Most weekly and limited-time Shardbound events try to get players to test out new sides of the game by having them interact with mechanics they might have not experienced before. This allows fans to have a deeper understanding of the game and also potentially discover parts of the game they might have missed. With more people onboarding Shardbound during its open beta, developers are likely to continue experimenting with events to see which ones draw the most attention and use the data for a stronger launch in the coming year. &nbsp;
