<p>Blockchain gaming is set to take on a new pace as top blockchain platform Zilliqa unveils a prototype of its upcoming Web3 game console. According to reports, the official game console is set to go live in Q1 of 2023. The web3 game console will help “hide the complexity of Web3 from the end-user”. Simply put, it will help simplify the still complex Web3 gaming ecosystem for interested gamers.</p><p>The soon-to-launch hardware gaming console will be furnished with a wide array of ports like HDMI, USB-C, USB 3.0, and Ethernet connections. According to Zilliqa, the Web3 game console will integrate important Web3 functionalities while also ensuring a top-notch user experience (UX). The console will also include a crypto wallet as well as a unique mining feature. In fact, Zilliqa engineers have been hard at work researching, designing, and testing the game console over the last six (6) months. Interestingly, most of their research and test centered around integrating web3 features like the wallet, decentralized tech, and software mining into the blockchain gaming sphere.</p><p>Speaking on the announcement, Zilliqa’s Head of Gaming Tech, Valentin Cobelea spoke highly of the prototype. Further revealing that Zilliqa’s approach during the research phase was centered around “[...] hiding the complexity of creating the embedded Web3 wallet”.</p><p>Using the console, gamers will earn ZIL tokens by completing in-game tasks and quests. They will also be able to mine ZIL tokens with the console’s software mining feature. This, in turn, will help improve decentralization on Zilliqa as it would have more miners across the globe. According to Cobelea, earning while using the game console will to a large extent depend on how skilled a gamer is. Gamers can also, however, earn ZIL tokens as rewards for mining using the Console’s software mining feature.&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Gaming Experience over Earning - Zilliqa</strong></h2><p>Top Play-to-Earn (P2E) gaming platforms, like Axie Infinity, has most gamers focusing on earning some form of income. However, Zilliqa is looking to take a different approach with its game console and gaming hub. While passive earning is a great addition to blockchain gaming, Cobelea reveals that the to-be-launch gaming console will not focus on earning. Instead, a major focus will be on the gaming experience.
