Plutonians is an action-adventure VR based metaverse game title from the U.A. Fabrica gaming division that encompasses many qualities.



<p>Plutonians has been through a few rough winters, but the VR title on Solana is set to make a comeback on December 13 with a Unity VR demo. The release will also mark the start of Plutonians’ new short-term road map.</p><p>Despite a difficult few years, <a href="https://funjible.games/games/Plutonians">Plutonians</a> looks to get back on track with a new roadmap. By the end of 2025, a software development kit is anticipated to be available for players to create their own galaxies in Plutonians.</p><h2><strong>A Walk Down Plutonians’ Memory Lane</strong></h2><p>Plutonians initially launched in 2021. The project aimed to build a VR metaverse, blockchain-driven MMORPG on the Solana blockchain. Early features included NFT items, levels, and story editors. However, by September 2023, the developers <a href="https://plutonians.medium.com/plutonians-project-update-deep-sleep-46fb6d32aa39">decided to move away from the Unreal Engine</a>. Developing the game on Unity had the potential to be more feasible based on internal research.</p><p>The rise of publicly available VR solutions, like Apple Vision Pro, inspired Plutonians to pivot to a new engine. While this may look like a simple task from an outsider’s perspective, the project effectively had to take two steps back in order to move forward more easily in the future. <p>Exciting news! The Plutonians metaverse announces the launch in its much-anticipated Public Alpha version. It took place on March 31st, 2023. This is the start of a new era for the Plutonians metaverse.</p><p>According to the <a href="https://plutonians.medium.com/the-alpha-is-upon-us-4347f1052c3">announcement</a>, the entire Plutonians metaverse development team has been hard at work to ensure the seamless public alpha launch. Prior to this launch, Plutonians launched its <a href="https://plutonians.medium.com/the-plutonians-flight-test-pre-alpha-6aff568ed9a">Flight Pre-Alpha testnet</a> in October 2022. Some of these features are:</p><ul><li>The complete revamp of its ship cockpit experience for users. The cockpit now includes a unique holographic user interface.</li><li>Players can now navigate between different VR scenes with the new Docking system.&nbsp;</li><li>The introduction of FX for fast travel and Warp gate functionality.</li><li>The addition of two (2) massive space levels for exploration. These space levels have over 20 different docking locations and take up almost 20% of the entire game.</li><li>Ship targeting and navigation system.</li><li>There was also the introduction of weapon loadout customization and swapping feature.</li></ul><p>Other important features include; Shielding and ship destruction system, Enemy vessel AI and scripting, etc. It is important to note that the Public Alpha testnet can be downloaded for free on the <a href="http://plutonians.tech/">Plutonians website.</a> Players will also be able to explore the vast environment of the testnet platform.</p><p>Speaking on the launch, Plutonians CTO, Tillmann Meyer disclosed that the Alpha testnet launch is a major milestone for the metaverse platform.
