<p>Not all Web3 games are built equal. Some are content to fill a small niche while others have a grand ambition to become truly epic. Star Atlas is definitely in the latter category as it seeks to massively expand in the coming months. The developers recently revealed a number of content updates that players can look forward to. These Star Atlas updates will both broaden and deepen the game. It's going to be a wild rocket ride for the rest of the year. Let's examine these upcoming content updates.</p><h2><strong>Major Star Atlas Content Updates</strong></h2><p><strong>Faction Leaders –</strong> The game plans on releasing faction leader crew cards, and these faction leaders come with special perks. Faction leaders will be severely limited as only three will be randomly distributed to eligible wallets. Players looking to be eligible for these cards need to hold one common, one uncommon, one rare, one epic, and one legendary crew card in their wallet. Those players receiving a faction leader will gain full access to a one-of-a-one faction leader Hab, a one-of-a-one large ship boasting Tier Five components, and more. After a year, players lose the perks associated with their faction leader card (ship, Hab, etc.) but will get to keep the faction leader crew cards. Each pack yields five characters. Each character features an unique personality, story, stats, art, background, and attributes. Furthermore, the Crew Packs contain a wide range of species for players to discover.</p><h2><strong>Pre-Season (Closed Access)</strong></h2><p>More content updates are coming with the launch of the closed access Pre-Season (previously known as Release 2.2). This testing phase comes shortly after Breakpoint and will be the last closed access release.</p><p><strong>Project Galia –</strong> This feature will be in experimental mode when it launches. The developers state that this update “is Star Atlas.” Players will be able to traverse the galaxy in a seamless manner and explore and take on the unknown.</p><p><strong>Fleet Command –</strong> One of the reasons Star Atlas looks to be epic in nature is that it will be both a 3rd person game on the ground and a RTS game as well. Fleet Command is the RTS view of the game. Some of the new game modes include smaller Surge modes, VIP, TDM, Gun Game, and more. However, the developers stress that not all of these game modes may make the cut.</p><h2><strong>Additional Star Atlas Updates</strong></h2><p>Once the closed access Pre-Season is done and the data reflected upon, the game will then move to Pre-Season open access. At this point, all players in the Epic Games Store can enjoy the game. Further updates include the following:</p><p><strong>Season 0 – </strong>This season features the Ioki open world (Ustur homeworld), character creation, racing and fighting careers, and combat racing. The proposals go live today (July 8th) and voting begins on July 10th.</p><p><strong>Star Atlas Summit –</strong> The developers also revealed that they will be hosting their very first conference, the Star Atlas Summit. Events at the conference include a hackathon, Star Atlas DAC booths, a Surge tournament, Star Atlas IP showcases, and discussions from CPO Danny Floyd, game engineers, and more.</p><p><strong>Ship Lending –</strong> One final Star Atlas update revealed recently is that players will be able to lend ships to others. No exact time has been set for this update, but developers note they hope to have this feature implemented later this year.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
